A propos de Coy Taylor

“Coy Taylor is a
modern-day throwback
to legends like George
Jones and Johnny Paycheck,”
wrote Billboard.
“A listen to his latest
material proves that he
is on the right course.”
But for Taylor, the proclamation
from the music
industry’s most respected
trade is merely
a reflection that his
years of hard work are finally paying off.”
“Music has always been in my blood,”
says Taylor. “The fact that fans, Nashville
media, and industry execs are taking such a
strong notice just confirms I’m right where
I’m supposed to be.”
In 2012, Taylor played more than 150
shows, from opening acts to large festivals
and honkytonks. “Our goal was to cover as
much ground as we could and bring the music
to as many new faces as we could,” Taylor
continues. “We worked with several very successful
charities.”
For the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
of Eastern PA , he raised several thousand
dollars producing and headlining two
events. He also worked with the Veterans
and Wounded Warrior’s Foundations and
also assisted in raising over $30,000.00 for
the Texas Equusearch, a rescue program for
missing women and children. “Due to the
contributions of a lot of great people, and
especially Coy and the band,” said Texas
Equusearch Search Coordinator John
White. “We were able to raise more than
$30,000 to help this organization continue
to help reunite families with missing loved
ones or bring closure to help them get
through the grieving
process. He absolutely
packed the house.”
He also managed to
secure several key endorsement
deals with
companies like Firefly
Vodka, Corral Boots and
Spectrum Sound, a rare
feat for a new artist.
“We are very fortunate
to have several great
companies behind us,”
says Taylor. “Their support has been so important
in helping me meet my audience.”
Over the past several years, the Kentucky
native has been honing his skills and
growing his fan base across the Midwest
and the Southeast. “Our live show is very
special,” he says. “We thrive on audience
energy and we’re always trying to do something
different than everyone else.”
Meanwhile, Taylor has continued to attract
the attention of Country Radio and Music
City’s elite, inking a deal with heavy weight
management Average Joe’s Management,
which also manages such artists as Colt Ford,
John Michael Montgomery and Ira Dean.
He has also found time to work in the studio
with a wide array of artists, from Brady
Seals (Little Texas, Hot Apple Pie) to the legendary
Little Jimmie Dickens.
“I don’t really feel a pressure to succeed,”
says Taylor. “I consider Billboard’s endorsement
strong motivation and encouragement
to continue on the road I’m on.
We’re doing something right. Plus, I’m having
a great time.”
