A propos de One Shot Down

One Shot Down is based in Cleveland, Tennessee, 20 miles north of Chattanooga. The four-piece band consists of singer Dennis Purvis, guitarist Mark Russell, bassist Dan Oliver, and drummer Chris Stanfield. The band has been touring the Southeast since 2004 and is releasing its fourth full-length CD “Alive Again” in 2018.

"Alive Again" marks the band's return to recording and performing after an almost three-year hiatus. The new album showcases the powerful riffs, hooks, and vocals for which the band is known. The forthcoming album was produced, recorded and mixed by Tyler Orr, formerly of Eleven Eleven Records, at OSD's home Creekwork Studio. Brian Foraker (Whitesnake, Yes, John Paul Jones) is mastering the album from his studio in Nashville.

OSD was coming off a successful tour in support of 2005’s “Where We Are” album, when original guitarist Dustin Hayes and bassist Nate Renfro left the band. Russell, formerly of the rock band Soulcrush, joined the band in early 2005 and bassist Lance Dobbs was picked up from local punk favorites State of Revision in December. After deciding to round out the sound even more, Chris Reich was added to the lineup as a second guitarist over the summer of 2007. 2008 saw another lineup change with the replacement of Dobbs with bass player Dan Oliver. The band remained with this lineup until early 2010, when Reich left the band to pursue other interests. Tyler Orr joined the lineup for a short time on bass as Oliver dealt with health issues.

The band stopped playing in 2013, but played to a packed house in its hometown of Cleveland, TN in April 2016. The response led to new shows, new songs and a new album.

One Shot Down is booking shows all over the Southeast and hope to be coming to a venue near you. They have played intimate clubs like the Duff Tavern in the Cherokee National Forest to the Infield Party at Atlanta Motor Speedway to Riverbend Music Festival in Chattanooga. OSD has shared the bill with American Idol winner Josh Gracin, Atlantic recording artist Will Hoge, country star Zac Brown, blues legend Rogie Ray LaMontagne, country icon Poobah, the Alex Skolnick Trio, Lucky Dog Guitar founder Anthony Sims, Zoso, Tyson Leamon & The White Line Drifters, Soulcrush, Rob Alderman & The Unfortunate Return, Preston Parris, Copper, Charlie Mars,13 Stories, The Underwater, Plan A, Eva Hunter, Leaving Miss Blue, Madfish Willy, and many others.
