A propos de The Beanstalk Library

The Beanstalk Library has built a loyal following in the Washington, DC area and along the east coast with passionate and adventurous live performances. Their two full-length albums America At Night and The View From Here have drawn accolades from, among others, The Washington Post, who called their music "timeless" and compared it to Big Star. The band proudly continued this tradition with the release of the 2016 EP Returns, and is currently writing and recording its third full-length album.

The Beanstalk Library has headlined stages at festivals including The Kingman Island Bluegrass & Folk Festival, the Del Ray Music Festival, and the Fete de la Musique at the French Embassy. From 2012 until its untimely closing in 2017 they hosted an annual New Year's Eve bash at the venerable IOTA Club & Cafe in Arlington, VA. In 2018, the band performed at The Kennedy Center, The Hamilton, and Pearl Street Warehouse where they celebrated the release of their new single "Easier."

Three fun facts about the band:

1) They backed up Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic on an instrumental, accordion-driven cover of Lorde's "Royals." The video was featured in Rolling Stone, Spin, Pitchfork, and many other music outlets.
2) Members of the band also regularly perform with The Cowards Choir, Justin Jones, Koshari, Lighting Fires, Uptown Boys Choir, Sara Curtin, and the Cherry Blossom String Quartet. Drummer Adam Neubauer toured the world with his former band Ghoti Hook.
3) They once stole RZA's candy from the State Theatre dressing room.

"These guys sound as wholesome and American as a warm apple pie in a green field during the summertime, only they rock a little harder. Basically, if Tom Petty decided to jam with My Morning Jacket, you might get a group that sounds like the Beanstalk Library." --Ted Maider, Consequence of Sound

"Songs like 'Fake It' and 'Elephantitis' burst out of the speakers, bright and jangly guitars at the forefront, supported by piano, horns and cascading backing vocals. "America at Night" is rooted more in classic rock than '90s alt-rock and that helps give the songs a timeless feel -- this is simply well-written, well-performed, well-produced music." --David Malitz, The Washington Post

"TBL makes well-crafted pop-rock music with deft songwriting, hard-hitting drums, full guitar/bass sound and flourishes from violin and keys for a mature sound that’s criminally underrated in DC these days."--Paul Vodra, Hometown Sounds

"The Beanstalk Library is setting the nation’s capital — and the indie rock world — on fire with its driving Americana sound that has lots of jangle, a dose of groove and a sturdy stance." --Chris Jordan, Asbury Park Press

“Wonderfully done record...Catchy, driving music, well-written lyrics and beautiful harmonies. Tracks can go from piano heavy to guitar thunder, from sleepy chill to jarring, all seamlessly...these tracks sound big time." --Robert Rifkin, On Tap Magazine

"The Nirvana member performed with D.C.-area groups the Cowards Choir and The Beanstalk Library and made the appearance in support of the Fair Vote campaign."--Kory Grow, Rolling Stone
