I’m Jackson Alter from Jacksonville Beach, FL!! It’s been two years since a near career ending car accident left me unable to sing. After having to quit doing what I loved, I was feeling pretty down on myself. After over a year of licking my wounds, I decided to push through the pain and got back in the studio to produce my most authentic work yet. My debut EP: SLUDGE delves into hitting rock bottom and my overwhelming amount of coping that taught me there’s only one person you’ll spend the rest of your life with—yourself.

BUT EVERYTHING CHANGES NOW.

Having recently been cleared by jaw surgeons to begin singing again, I am starting PT and vocal coaching to feel like myself. This April I will be in the studio recording my second body of work that I’ve compiled over the last year.

EXTRA LORE DROP: I grew up listening to my local alt rock radio which featured inspirations like Cage The Elephant, The Strokes, Young The Giant, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Green Day, and Blink182. Then my life changed when I found flipturn in 2016 when I was a freshman in high school. I’ve been stuck in an indie wormhole ever since! Learning songs by The Backseat Lovers, flipturn, Peach Pit, Hippo Campus, and Briston Maroney over the past 10 years, these songs have become intertwined in my writing & DNA.
