Alan Fletcher’s Back to School tour is everything you’d hope for from the beloved Aussie entertainer – and then some. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted not just with a warm welcome, but with genuine warmth from Alan and his equally lovely wife, Jennifer, who both took the time to chat, take photos, and make every guest feel like an old friend. The evening kicked off with a powerful solo performance by Riley Catherall, who more than proved why he’s such an integral part of Alan’s band. His set was soulful and captivating, setting the perfect tone for what was to follow. Alan’s show was a seamless blend of music, humour, and heartfelt moments. Fans of Neighbours were treated to just the right amount of nostalgic nods – a respectful and fun tip of the hat to his legacy as Dr. Karl Kennedy. But this show was far more than just a novelty act; it was a testament to Alan’s genuine talent as a musician and storyteller. The musical setlist was full of charm, spanning country, folk, and storytelling ballads, each delivered with a charisma and ease that only comes from someone who truly loves what they do. Jennifer Hansen joining Alan on stage added another beautiful layer – their chemistry and harmonies were touching and effortlessly engaging. More than just a concert, Back to School felt like an intimate gathering among friends – a rare and special quality in any performance. The humour was warm and self-aware, the stories authentic, and the music heartfelt. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Neighbours, a country music enthusiast, or just looking for a night of feel-good entertainment, this tour is an absolute must-see.

A propos de Alan Fletcher

Alan Fletcher

"Alan Fletcher has been entertaining audiences for more than 45 years as an actor and musician. He is a household name in Australia, UK and Europe as a result of playing Dr Karl on the TV series Neighbours for 30 years.

Alan fronted the rock band Waiting Room which held a 12-year residency in Melbourne and performed ten sell-out tours in the UK.

Inspired by his heroes such as Jason Isbell, John Prine and Guy Clark, Alan has spent the past 18 months writing and recording THE POINT - a brand new album of witty and heartfelt original songs. The Point has been produced by Alt-Country/Americana masters Lachlan Bryan and Damian Cafarella and received widespread praise.

Engaging, delightful, wistful and original, The Point is classically crafted whilst contemporarily composed. It’s an album that covers a wide spectrum of emotions, that shakes and stirs with infectious honesty. – The Manc Review (mancreview.com)
Overall, Alan Fletcher delivered a show that surprised in the best possible way. He had a fantastic vocal quality throughout as well as some solid guitar playing, but what elevated the evening for me was the balance he struck between thoughtfulness and fun and the strength of his connection with the crowd. It’s safe to say he’s going to appeal to music fans way beyond just those who know him from ‘Neighbours’, and personally I’m very intrigued to see where he’s going to take his music next.
