Blanket Approval

Since the release of early singles, "STOP" and "Finally Got It Now" in 2022, Blanket Approval has been making friends and fans at home in NYC and around the world, from South Korea to Brazil, thanks to viral shorts and spontaneous connections on the internet.

Jack Matteucci (guitar/vox), Joey Hadden (drums/vox), Rahul Chakraborty (guitar/keys/vox) & Max Mena (bass/rolling around on the floor) started writing music together in 2021, playing shows throughout the band's hometown at venues Mercury Lounge, Bowery Electric, Arlene's Grocery and more, before setting out for shows throughout the Northeast and down to Georgia, Florida, and Texas.

When most of the band moved in together in late 2024, "Heartbreak City" began to take shape in Blanket Approval's in-home rehearsal space, and occasional DIY venue, in Ridgewood, Queens, dubbed "The Fort."

One morning in their Ridgewood apartment in early 2025, the band woke up to a DM from Twenty One Pilots frontman Tyler Joseph. He came across their 2023 single "My Soft Spots My Robots." By the end of the year, Blanket Approval's songwriting was featured on TØP's #1 album "Breach," interpolated in "Robot Voices."
