Daniel James McFadyen

Daniel James McFadyen is an award-winning indie-folk artist whose expressive lyricism, charismatic stage presence, and road-worn storytelling have made him one of Canada’s most compelling contemporary voices.
Following his 2025 sophomore album, Back To The Country (LHM Records), McFadyen enters a new chapter in 2026 with The Garden, a seven-song EP exploring rebirth, change, love, loss, memory, and starting over. Colder, dreamier, and more nostalgic than the raw warmth of his previous record, The Garden was recorded with producer Quinn Bachand and expands McFadyen’s sound through atmospheric acoustic textures, pump organ, drum machines, and the loose, human feel that has become central to his work.
McFadyen’s rise has been driven equally by his deeply interactive live shows and extensive touring. In 2024, he earned three Music Nova Scotia Awards—the most of any artist that year—and has continued to build a devoted audience across Canada.
This fall, McFadyen brings The Garden to the stage with The Glad I’m Dead Tour, a limited 13-date Canadian run and his most ambitious live production to date, built around the songs, stories, and atmosphere of the new record.
