A propos de Alice Wallace

Alice Wallace
There's a reason she's been called "one of the best singers out there at the moment" by Saving Country Music. Americana artist Alice Wallace does not hide behind the microphone, but uses it to amplify everything inside her champing to get out.
Though she recently packed up and made a big move to Chicago, Wallace spent the last six years in Nashville, honing her songwriting and performing skills in Music City after starting her career in Southern California. She released her first Nashville solo record Here I Am in June 2024 with help from producer Nick Buda, who’s worked with Dolly Parton, Martina McBride and Taylor Swift, to name a few. The album got wide praise for its deeply personal, confessional songwriting style, propelled by a powerful, expressive delivery that marks her as one of the true vocal talents of her generation.
Currently, Alice is working on an EP of yodeling duets with western music icon Ranger Doug of the band Riders in the Sky (Toy Story, Monsters Inc), for release in spring 2027. Alice is one of the few modern singers keeping the art of the country yodel alive, and this new recording will showcase her incredible talent with this often forgotten vocal skill.
Wallace grew up in a musical family, where voices like Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton were on heavy rotation on the family turntable and were huge influences on her as a budding singer and songwriter. Nowadays, Wallace tours full-time, bringing her personal songs and soaring vocals to venues across the country. She’s also one of the few modern singer/songwriters keeping the art of the country yodel alive.
Wallace was named 2017 Female Vocalist of the Year by the California Country Awards, and previously released four solo albums. Her album 2019 album, Into the Blue, earned recognition from Rolling Stone Country, with the title track being named one of the “Best Americana Songs to Hear Now”. This was followed by Lucky Break via Side Pony, a duo project with friend Caitlin Cannon that took the pair across the United States and Europe.
Cuttingly self-exploring, delivered with emotionality, and with just the right pop Americana sensibilities, Here I Am is Alice Wallace’s most expansive album yet. For fans of songwriters who turn personal heartbreak into musical gold and for anyone who loves a powerful, full-ranged, expressive voice, Here I Am is not to be missed.

What an incredible voice and an engaging showwoman. Best cover of Linda Ronstadts' Long Long Time I've ever heard. Sang many songs from her newest album, which I highly recommend. Great show!

Regretfully I missed the show, but I’m sure Alice was great. I’m hoping Alice liked Santa Fe, and wil return soon. We met at Scott’s house concert for her in Oakland in the pre-Trump era when I used to live there.
