A propos de Luísa Sobral

Luísa Sobral
Luísa Sobral
Luísa Sobral is one of the most recognized singer-songwriters in the Portuguese music scene.

Her debut was in 2011 with "The Cherry on My Cake", an album very well received by the public and critics. This was followed by "There's A Flower In My Bedroom" (2013), with guests such as Jamie Cullum, António Zambujo and Mário Laginha, and the album “Luísa" (2016), recorded in Los Angeles by producer Joe Henry (Madonna, Elvis Costello, among others). “Rosa" was her fifth album of originals (2018), produced by Raul Refree (Sílvia Pérez Cruz, Rosalía, Rocío Márquez). Lightly exploring the terrain of pop, “DanSando" (2022) is Luísa Sobral's latest album: an intimate and personal work, but also socially conscious and involved, bringing together brighter songs in which love is the raw material. Produced by Latin Grammy winner Tó Brandileone, the album was recorded between Lisbon and São Paulo. She is currently preparing a new record.

Luísa Sobral also has work dedicated to children, such as the album "Lu-Pu-I-Pi-Sa-Pa" (2014), the mini-album “Camomila” (2021) and also the books “Quando a Porta Fica Aberta” (2022) and “O Peso das Palavras” (2024).

In 2025 she released his first novel “Nem Todas as Árvores Morrem de Pé”.

In 2020, Luísa launched the podcast “O Avesso da Canção”, in which she talks with renowned names in Portuguese music about the art of songwriting. Her work as a composer has become more prominent over the years, and she has composed for artists such as Ana Moura, António Zambujo, Sara Correia, Mayra Andrade, Sílvia Pérez Cruz, among many others. In 2017, she signed "Amar Pelos Dois", which she handed over to her brother Salvador Sobral to perform, leading Portugal to achieve its first ever Eurovision victory.

As a producer, she has collaborated with artists such as Elisa Rodrigues, Joana Alegre, Luís Trigacheiro and Rogério Charraz.

In addition to being one of the most beloved artists of the Portuguese public, Luísa Sobral also has extensive international experience. Since 2011, the year in which she performed on the legendary BBC “Later...with Jools Holland”, Luísa has toured countries such as Spain, France, Turkey, Israel, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, USA, Morocco, South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Japan, South Korea, Brazil and Uruguay. She has also performed at festivals such as WOMAD in Adelaide (Australia), Barcelona Jazz Festival, Cartagena Jazz Festival, London Jazz Festival, Cully Jazz, SXSW (Texas, USA), among many others.
