Originally from Buffalo, NY, Koi Anunta started playing the piano at age 4 and violin at age 8. After it was discovered she was gifted with perfect pitch, she had the honor of being classically trained by noted concert pianist Claudia Hoca and violinist Tom Halpin up through her studies at Yale, where she switched over to pop and rock and graduated with a B.A. in English. After receiving her M.D. from the University at Buffalo, she moved to Hollywood to continue pursuing her lifelong passion for music.

Koi has since contributed violin, keyboards, or vocals to countless label, indie, television, and film recordings in a wide variety of genres that range from hiphop, rock, and country all the way to Middle Eastern traditional music, shared the stage with many major and local artists and bands, and has toured the U.S. several times over. Her particular strengths are live improvisation and knowing how to fit a melodic line into an existing work as if it should always have been there.

Koi is also the founding member of her current original project, the heavy melodic rock band In Love & War (www.inloveandwarband.com), which is heavily influenced by Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Garbage, Portishead, Massive Attack, 30 Seconds to Mars, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Guns n' Roses, The Killers, M83, Digital Daggers, and Gunship.

When she isn't playing, writing, or recording, Koi enjoys her two rescued horses, her two ex-street dogs, acting, laughing often and much, and a decent whiskey on the rocks.
