Mayladay was born in 1993 in a little town by the sea. She has lived in Amsterdam since the age of fifteen, but whenever she can she goes back to the seaside and the woods. That is where she wanders and writes songs about love, jealousy, Aristotle and her grandma. The music of Mayladay is indie pop influenced combined with a remarkably jazzy sound (think Bon Iver meets Lianne La Havas). For years she has been active as a jazz singer and she still loves to sing the songs from the roaring 20’s and 30’s of the last century. One year ago Mayladay decided that it was time to write her own music. And she did.

November 16th 2018 is the release date of Mayladay’s debut single Walk in the Woods. Mayladay is playing with her wonderful band: Dario Trapani (guitar, backing vocals), Allison Philips (trumpet), Mauro Cottone (double bass) and Robin van Rhijn (drums). Walk in the Woods is recorded, mixed and produced by Benjamin Rheinländer and mastered by Coen Dingemans.

Daar dwaalt ze en schrijft ze liedjes over liefde, jaloezie, Aristoteles en haar oma. De muziek van Mayladay is indie pop met een opmerkelijk jazzy geluid (denk aan Bon Iver meets Lianne la Havas). Ze is al jaren actief als jazz zangeres en nog steeds houdt ze ervan om songs uit de roaring twenties en thirties van de vorige eeuw te zingen. Een jaar geleden besloot Mayladay dat het tijd was om haar eigen muziek te schrijven. En dat deed ze.

Op 16 november 2018 brengt Mayladay haar eerste single uit, Walk in the Woods. Mayladay speelt met Dario Trapani (gitaar, backing vocals), Allison Philips (trompet), Mauro Cottone (contrabas) and Robin van Rhijn (drums). Walk in the Woods is opgenomen, gemixt en geproduceerd door Benjamin Rheinländer and gemasterd door Coen Dingemans.
