A propos de SMK / On-Key x Curt Quinn
S.M.K. is a collaboration that consist of R&B singers On-Key (Keyon McCray) and Curt Quinn (Curt Quinn Coleman). S.M.K. is an acronym for Soul Movement Krew. The two are artist that met in 2009 during a tour titled Soul Movement that was put into motion by On-Key's company (now defunct) Kademe Ent. The purpose of the tour was to show independent R&B artist from San Diego and its surrounding cities in a positive light and establish the R&B community in the city.
Despite doing shows together since 2009 Key and Quinn did not officially work on any music featuring each other. But in 2015 they decided to collab on writing music together. This partnership eventually grew to the point that they decided to produce a full LP titled Univer-Soul. Their project is slated to be released independently in the Winter of 2016. This will be accompanied by individual releases for both artist in the same time frame. As artist they both wanted to use the concept of strength in numbers thus the Soul Movement Krew was established.
