I grew up around a wide variety of music and have been engaged by the thought of being a musician for as long as I can remember. My father and my oldest brother played drums, making it an easy choice for me to get into drumming. The first time I played, it was on my brother’s kit when I was about 8 years old. I absolutely loved everything about drums—I knew I wanted to play. Finally, at the age of 12 my parents bought me my first drum kit and I’ve been playing ever since.
Drums have become my life, my passion, and my career.
I play in two bands, The Shawn Selig Band and The Dead Minutes, and I also play independently. The 2018 Maritimes Drum Off Champion, and I Teach @ Buchanans House Of Music in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia.
