In the early to mid 2000's, American metal had hit its peak with acts such as Darkest Hour, Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, and numerous others taking the metal scene by storm. Since then, America has become obsolete for these kinds of melodic metal bands to carry on the legacy of these world class acts. Since the formation of Within Our Gates, the fire of this golden era of music still lives on, setting out to make music that has the foundation of these bands, with a more accessible guise to appeal to a mass audience. Ever since, Within Our Gates strives to be the Return of American Heavy Metal, that will take the nation to the next logical step its been waiting for.
