Awesome show! I just wish I didn't procrastinate and had gotten party pit tickets before they sold out.

Wheeler put on an amazing show! So many times an artist isn't anywhere near as good in person as on a record. I have to say Wheeler was better in person! Can't wait for him to come back to Wichita!!

Everything was awesome - food, sound, music - wish we could hear the vocals a little better as we were at the stage/pit.

It's been about year since Wheeler has graced the stage with his music. A sad, lonesome year.
This show was something special. My friends and I piled into a shitty car and drove to Milwaukee to get some "all ages" greatness. We get there, surrounded by country bros and gun girl wannabes- you'd think it was an InfoWars rally. My friends and I realize our Gratedul Dead and Ween shirts stick out like a sore thumb and try to ease our way in being close to stage but not close to the drunk guys spilling beer over their MAGA hats.
The band starts a jam and Wheeler walks on out. The sexual prowess is mesmerizing. They rock our for a few songs and everyone is having a great time. We're laughing it up, watching as Wisconsin's finest rednecks scream out the lyrics in complete unabashed, drunken earnesty. However, Wheeler is visibly unamused. Is he annoyed? tired? hung over? too stoned? all of the above or some crazy combination? No one knows.
At some point, Wheeler tells us this is the last show of the tour, maybe ever, and they only got a few songs left. We are all dumbfounded. Wheeler's surging in popularity, the Rave is packed with adoring fans, why give up now? Wheeler starts up the band again and the show is back on. But something feels off...
Then we look around at the crowd around us and come to a sudden realization. This isn't funny anymore. The joke, the parody hidden under all the dicks and pussies and drugs, might as well not exist. Any critique of the placid conservative nature of modern country music is chuckled away in the beer breath of the audience. And here we are in the middle: tickets paid, albums enjoyed, and lyrics sung just like them. We look at Wheeler and we look back at each other and realize the expression on our face is the same.
Wheeler walks of the stage and the crowd is crying for an encore. It can't end like this. Suddenly this concert tradition is something new entirely- a plea for a way things once were, the innocent joy of enjoying some dirty jokes and cathartic punching up at the Nashville elite. Wheeler has to go out with a bang.
The last song was an experience I'm never going to forget. The band starts up "Poon," possibly Wheeler's magnum opus. If Wheeler Walker Jr. could have one line define him, it'd probably be "Fuck your music city, gimme that sweet pink and pretty, gimme that poon." And yet again, it feels as if the meaning to all of this is lost. And maybe I'm reading too far into Wheeler, but I always thought he was like South Park: attacking bullshit of the music business by making his music so offensive, so anti-Nashville while still making fantastic music. Maybe that's giving him too much credit, but given Ben's credentials I wouldn't put it past him. And in this final moment of Wheeler Walker Jr, with every yodel, with every note, you can feel the exasperation. Nobody is getting the joke and now Ben is stuck playing this caricature to room of drunk Republicans who just think it's funny to say dick a million times. Which it is, to a point, but there's something to Wheeler Walker Jr. I can feel it in every song, I felt it on his Twitter account which was sadly deleted for putting bigotry in its place, and I felt it at this show.
This concert was the best show I've ever been to. Part South Park, part honky tonkin, and part Shakespearean tragedy. And now a year later, an election on the way and his music slowly coming off my streaming service for some fucking reason, with vinyl and merch scarce, with only my concert tee and the memories remaining, I need- we need Wheeler Walker Jr. more than ever.
I suppose we are what we pretend to be. Most of the time anyway...
Fuck Wheeler Walker Jr. ❤

Fucking incredible! The crowd was great, deinks were strong and music was loud. I will return to see Wheeler and the gang play again.
Keep up the great performances!

This deserves a minimum of 14 stars on a 5-star scale. Outf*ckingstanding. Exceeded every expectation. Seeing him live will be the best money you've ever spent. Nashville could learn a lot from Wheeler and the boys!!!

Opening act (Birdcloud?) kinda sucked, a drummer would help ladies. They were smutty and cute but some of the screeching was just plain horrible. Wheeler was great and his band, especially the steel guitar, kicked ass.
