Maggie Belle Band is a 7-piece ensemble from New Orleans, Louisiana. Bringing together piano, bass, drums, and horns backing a soulful and impassioned frontwoman, the band plays an original blend of R&B, soul, funk, blues, with the occasional touch of hip hop. Born of the musical whirlpool that drew many of its members to New Orleans from all corners of the U.S., Maggie Belle Band has been making a splash in its hometown by combining solid grooves from a tasteful rhythm section with deep and heartfelt vocal performances from Maggie Belle herself. The band has been described as having "the rhythm of a J Dilla track and the soulful vocals of an early Grace Slick" and "emotive and fun, with a hint of illicitness and noir."
