Formed in 1998 in Melbourne, Australia, Monoliyth was founded by guitarist Mick Barr. Monoliyth has evolved from classic thrash metal to a laser-focused old-school death metal ensemble, while hinting at a subtle tech-death injection in their compositions, a trend that will continue to expand into the band’s future releases.

“He Who Kills,” released on August 22nd, 2025, explores a classic death metal topic: serial killers. Through the eyes of humanity’s darker side, Monoliyth provides a grim insight into the depraved, focusing on killers as a perspective rather than singling out a specific event, scenario, or historical murderer.

This glimpse into dystopia is expressed through pounding rhythms, a combination of menacing and intensely orchestrated instrumental passages, coupled with unnerving tension and cathartic release, aggressive hooks, and diminished based harmonies.
