A propos de Tethra
TETHRA was born in 2008. In 2010 Tethra starts playing live, supporting the Italian Doom act Thunderstorm and taking part in Rock Inn Somma Festival in July. During the summer Tethra recorded their first mini cd “At the Gates of Doom” at the Occultum Studios, under the supervision of Ossian, mastermind of Opera IX. The mini cd was released in November for Occultum Promotion and distributed in Italy by Masterpiece. Between 2011 and 2012 Tethra starts playing live, supporting Sepultura, Daylight Dies, Saturnus, Forgotten Tomb, Sadist, The Foreshadowing, Jackfrost and taking part of Malta Doom Fest. The new record will be titled "Drown into the Sea of Life" and it's a concept: all the lyrics will be focused on water and will resume the main theme from the mini cd, the passage between life and death. After the release of this records the band played with Swallow the Sun, Antimatter, Officium Triste, Ophis and Evadne. In 2016 the band released the first single, a personal cover of the classic Candlemass song Solitude, with a renewed line up. TETHRA’s upcoming full-length “Like Crows for the Earth” (to be released in 2017 via Sliptrick Records) reveals how much the band has evolved sonically. Elements such as acoustic breaks, striking solos and Doom-influenced melodies are perfect examples, topped off by Clode’s unmistakable tone (who’s signature screams and bass/middle range vocals take us back to the early stages of his musical career). In terms of song writing, the lyrics have become more intimate, focusing on topics such as loss, solitude and feelings of rejection. The album also deals with social issues, such as mankind’s indiscriminate exploitation of the Earth, metaphorically represented by the crow: if not stopped, this animal poses an undeniable threat to its ecosystem and is bound to destroy all other species. This album was recorded and mixed by Matt Stancioiu (Labyrinth) at Elnor Studios and mastered by Greg Chandles (Esoteric) at Priory Studios. Beetween 2016 and 2017 the band shared the stage with: Negura Bunget, The Vision Bleak and starts playing several shows supporting this third work. www.tethra.it tethrahell@gmail.com Melancholic Doom Death
