A propos de Ritalin

Beginning life away back in 1997 as a group of fourth-formers, Dunedin New Zealand's Ritalin have since gone on to become one of the hardest-working genre bands in the country. Despite being located in the deep south, the four-piece have toured the country multiple times, including two Punkfest appearances and even a spot on the 2003 Big Day Out. they have also opened shows for a variety of internation acts, such as the Bouncing Souls, and Strung out

The band's straight-up style of punk rock has been recorded so far on a 3-song demo, one EP (2003's Stop Wasting Time) and a split CD with fellow Dunedin act Two Fat Ladies. The song "Disposable People" also showed up on the successful NZ punk compilation Underground Resistance.

As they have grown into scene veterans, Ritalin have also spawned their own record label, Rebel High Records, and are independently releasing CDs from other Dunedin bands including Skaface Claw and the aforementioned Two Fat Ladies. They remain one the most important South Island genre band.
