A propos de CARRON
Méabh and Mella Carron don't write trendy music. They write the music they want to write. The music they like. The music they enjoy performing.
Starting out as an effort to heal after a long period of sickness, CARRON eventually developed into a vessel for their kinship - a project they can share, shape, and learn from together.
In their music and song-writing, they aim to create a sense of one united female voice that is amplified by the strength of their sibling bond, to blend impeccable harmonies through shared blood, and to subtly nod toward their Irish heritage and backgrounds in musical theatre whilst maintaining a contemporary and powerful sound.
In April 2016, they released their debut EP entitled 'Roots' which quickly shot to No. 4 in the Irish iTunes album charts, and was voted 'Best EP of 2016' by both Pure M Magazine and Gigonometry. In the months following they embarked on their debut Irish tour throughout Dublin, Cork, Galway, Belfast, and Limerick, as well as a support slot in London with The Coronas.
Their last single 'Battle Lines' was released last June reaching No. 1 in the iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts, followed by stand-out performances at Electric Picnic, Groove Festival, YouBloom, Bloom in the Park, Ruby Sessions, and a headliner in The Workman’s Club in Dublin. After taking a break for some much needed self-reflection and life-living, CARRON are back to take on the next years with new music, new energy, and a new drive.
