A propos de Michael Shrieve's Spellbinder
Michael Shrieve: Drums Over the course of his eminent career, Michael has written, produced and played on albums that have sold millions of copies worldwide. As the original drummer for Santana, Michael – at age nineteen – was the youngest performer at Woodstock. Michael’s recording credits include the masters of popular and avant-garde music – Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones, George Harrison, Pete Townsend, Steve Winwood, Police guitarist Andy Summers, film composer Mark Isham, and such musical luminaries as John Mclaughlin, Stomu Yamash’ta, Klaus Schulze, Freddie Hubbard, Jaco Pastorius, Wayne Horvitz, Bill Frisell, Zakir Hussain, Airto Moriera and Amon Tobin. Michael continues to strive for innovative approaches to percussion-based music, and records with both renowned and emerging artists (Skerik, Jack DeJohnette, Zakir Hussain, Reggie Watts), in addition to his own band, Spellbinder. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and in 2005, Michael received the Guitar Center’s first annual “Lifetime Achievement Award.” Danny Godinez: Guitars Danny is a unique guitarist, drawing from his facilities on the acoustic as well as the electric guitar. He is involved in a myriad of projects in the Seattle area. Aside from performing his live solo show, he also performs with reknown native artist Pura Fe, and teaches guitar privately and for rockschool.org. He enjoys playing tennis, good conversation, and is a Gemini. He is looking forward to giving birth to his first full length solo record in 2008. www.whoisdanny.com Joe Doria: Hammond B3 Joe learned from the Hammond greats of past and present with emphasis on his favorite - Jimmy Smith. He is obviously at home and in touch with the Hammond, knowing the instrument and it's history so well as to make it sing in any situation. Never limiting himself to one style, he's always trying new projects and can be heard on many cd's and playing live in projects such as: Skerik's Syncopated Taint Septet (on Ropeadope and Hyena records), Arisawkadoria, DOS(e), Skip Heller (Hyena Records), Chewy , Gutterball, Swampdweller, Dawud Raamah, The Living Daylights, Atma, The Stone Crazy Blues Band, and his current projects, "The Joe Doria Trio" and "Last Mile". Farko Dosumov: Bass Farko Rustamovich Dosumov was born in the city of Tashkent which is the capital of Uzbekistan. He started to take lessons on the classical guitar at age of 10. Switched to a bass at 14 years old. He moved to the United States when he was 20 and decided to go to Cornish College of the Arts located in Seattle Washington. Since then, he has played with many artists and groups such as The Danny Godinez Band, Jazzukha, Flowmotion, Arturo Rodrigez, Last Mile and the Owl'n'Thistle Band to name a few. John Fricke: Trumpet After 14 years of school and touring, John landed back in Seattle in Feb of 2002. Playing/recording with the likes of Douglas Cameron, Flowmotion, James Whiton, Four Finger Five and Danny Godinez. Since his return, John has developed an erie muted Trumpet sound all his own. From the original drummer of Santana, a new group that has the sound of the best instrumental music of Santana and more.
