About Clara-Nova

CLARA-NOVA is the mesmerizing new project from French-American artist, Sydney Wayser. Wayser grew up in Los Angeles while spending her summers in Paris. The Louvre Palace and the Orangerie being only a few blocks from her apartment, she quickly gleaned much of French culture, leading her to musical influences that include Edith Piaf, Serge Gainsbourg, and Jacques Brel, among many others. Last fall, CLARA-NOVA toured North America supporting the Kooks, and in August she issued her debut single, “An Island” in advance of her forthcoming EP, which has since been taking people by storm and charting on Spotify’s "fresh finds" and "artist to watch" charts. This September she will be playing the Communion Residency tour. Her EP, after the LP, is a collaborative production with Shawn Everett (Alabama Shakes, Julian Casablancas). CLARA-NOVA ’s music is electro-textured indie pop that manages to somehow be sophisticated, exotic, and accessible--all at the same time. Lyrically CLARA-NOVA pulls from transporting imaginative netherworlds and the beauty and struggle of an earthly existence. The collection of tracks is impressionistic and transporting. She is constantly inspired by exploring ways to combine art, culture, fashion, philanthropy, and collaborative installations along with her music as a means of fully expressing the world of CLARA-NOVA. Now based in Echo Park - Los Angeles, Wasyer is also known for her prolific work as a songwriter and collaborator, and has been a synch darling for years. Her music and vocals appearances have been featured in many film and tv spots, including Shameless, Grey’s Anatomy, and the recent trailer for 2014 film “Exodus”. CLARA-NOVA’s EP title, The Bronze Age, refers to her own unannounced self combustion. It is her new chapter. This journey mirrors her personal and private transformation, but it’s also universally resonate. “With this music, the thing I want to get across is honesty and real human connection,” she says. “There is so much stimulation out there, I know myself to get a little lost in it. I think I often miss the feeling of experiencing real life together in real time.” There is a sense of mystical purposefulness that surrounds the rise of CLARA-NOVA and the body of music gifted to her in this transformation. “It’s hard to accept change, but when you get to the other side, you can finally acknowledge why you did all the things you did. CLARA-NOVA represents my story, but I hope people listen with an open heart and find their own stories in the songs.” Stay tuned for upcoming release and touring announcements. ////◊◊ DEEP-SEA DANCE PARTY ◊◊////
