Japanese Breakfast

Good enough Q&A, it got interesting when questioning was opened up to the crowd. Four acoustic and string arrangement songs from the "Melancholy" album were performed.

Beautiful venue, but not handicap accessible. We thought the sound was good. Not really a bad seat anywhere. A number of parking garages and lots in the area. It is not at all so bad an area as others have said. Lots of people around. The show itself was awesome. The band played for 1 hour 25 minutes, not including the opening act, Ginger Root. Both performances were full of energy. Japanese Breakfast had a beautiful set design centered around an under the sea theme. I would see them again.

The best concert ever! She is soooo much better live like i wish she could release a live version album of this concert. i don’t even wanna hear any of her music anymore because none of it will top this performance. i actually teared up during posing for cars. i have no other words to say. if i could buy a ticket for the 9/28 performance i would.

It was fantastic. I loves to see her performance on stage. It was exactly what I expected from the character represented by her work as an artist <3

Great performance by jbrekkie, they performed most of the songs I wanted to hear and Michelle came across as warm and appreciative of Karen O/Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the Linda Lindas. They all came together for an ensemble performance spanning several decades of Asian American women in music which was really nice!

Lots of energy from Michelle. She and the band seemed genuinely happy to be playing and they said this was their first arena show ever. Sound wasn't great but her vocals came through pretty well and she hit every note. Set list could have been a bit better, I feel it dragged in the middle and it missed a couple songs I really wanted to hear, but overall they did a great job. Would definitely love to see them in a smaller venue.

Soo good! We were lucky enough to have spots right in front of stage and her outfit, her chemistry with her husband and band on stage were just so lovely to watch! I’ve never heard Heft before but I’m so glad they played it live that night the guitar solos were ahhhh!! worked as a Lincoln Calling volunteer too which granted me free access that night - and I did it to see them hehe

Outstanding! Other than Build to Spill who played right before, this was the best performance I’ve ever seen. Incredible talent, a new favorite band for sure! Such a fun and playful atmosphere too!

The performance was great, her singing was pretty, the violin, keys and saxophone was so pretty, them guitar solos were hypnotizing, the crowd seem dead and didn't know much songs sadly but besides that, good show

Amazing! One of the best concerts I’ve been too. Band was tight, energetic, and put on a great show. Lighting and backdrop really added to it as well. Great time

Amazing show! So good, I want to go back for at least one of the October shows. Michelle Zauner is super talented. She’s a great performer, tells moving stories, writes and produces great songs (lyrics and melodies), and is an overall brilliant musician! Her band is excellent too!

Was cool, some fun sing alongs sprinkled in and she stayed after to meet fans and sign stuff. She was kind enough to take a selfie with my phone too.

I discovered @jbrekkie about two years ago, when they perform on @kexp. ⁣ Michelle Zauner is a very interesting songwriter, and there is something so compelling, honest, and pure about her singing. This is a review of the venue not the band. Sat though the entire first opening act in the balcony that no employee was requiring a specific bracelet for entry. Before the final act performed we were asked to leave, mind you the balcony never filled up after that, not to mention the balcony was only being used for the stools for seating and nothing else. The bar wasn’t even functioning.

The sound mixing was off, as the bass overpowered everyone else on stage. I could barely hear Michelle sing for the fist 4 tracks. I couldn't discern the lyrics of the new track they played which was unfortunate. Also, the "Eugenian" doing the whoop-whooping killed the joke, distracted the singer, and made me feel 3rd party embarrassment. Otherwise the show was great and I'd love to see them again!

The show was SO good!!! The opening band Ought was fantastic! Michelle and her band were amazing, their energy was contagious! I was surprised to see how young the crowd was but concluded that younger kids must be listening to good music (; Michelle mentioned that she grew up in Eugene, OR and told quite a few stories about visiting Portland when she was younger. Overall a great performance, I definitely recommend seeing Japanese Breakfast to those who are into indie rock, shaking your head and getting your emo dance on.

Japanese Breakfast was awesome! Opening band was meh. Wish the stage was higher since some >6’ tall men took up front center and blocked everyone’s view

Such a great show! The energy was unstoppable, and really brought new dimensions to both albums with the rawness of its delivery! 10/10 Would see J-Brekkie again!

Japanese Breakfast crushed it. She had so many great songs, including a couple from her upcoming LP, one from her Little Big League days, and a fantastic song about falling in love with a cyborg. And she signed my sweatshirt. So many great memories.

Chill, small venue, great music and even greater energy from all the bands. Michelle was even out selling her own merchandise and she was thrilled to just chill and talk to us for a long time.
