The vibe? A little rock ’n’ roll, a little disco sweat, a little indie-dream chaos. DJs spin tracks that make strangers become dance partners, the drinks hit just right, and everyone looks like they belong in a band, a movie, or both. It’s stylish without trying, nostalgic without being dusty, and cool without being exclusive.
Very good show, Much better attended than his last in LA.
Ken played several songs from his latest album, but his selections from Cerulean were still the best.
Always a great night of live music. Chris, Eleanor and Bonnie are very talented musicians. They always showcase someone I am not familiar with. Last night , guest Chris Pierce was inspiring and has a new fan.
I have seen him live 5 times now. Every show is amazing and unique. His vocals and musicianship are unbelievable live… many times he reinterprets his songs which adds a new dimension to them.
Always an incredible show when Mike’s performing. He played a few new ones that were incredible. I honestly can’t even explain the joy that was in the room that night. Peak girlhood. Would relive this night if I had a Time Machine.
What a show the energy was unmatched. Set was a mix of new and familiar tracks. Fox Sinclair’s music is so catchy, fun and honest. Shes most definitely going to blow up.
Mike Viola is a national treasure. If you have a chance to see him perform, run don't walk. World-class songwriting, an Academy award nominated, Voice, he can play the guitar as well as anyone, but with so much more expression and understanding of Melody. One of the greatest joys in life is to watch Mike Viola With a guitar and hear him sing. Golddiggers is a great venue for the band and for your ears, as the sound is good. But the layout of the bar is crappy. The purposeful dive-bar feel means there an are few great vantage points and tables for about 8 people. And for a fan, other than the really good sound, and a pretty mellow vibe, it's not a great place to watch a performance. But with Mike that doesn't matter so much, as his voice and his guitar are absolute magic.
This show, this artist is an experience to remember! I have had the honor of seeing Mike Viola perform numerous times and each time is a special night unto itself. There's no pretense, there's no plan really. Just a poignant and humorous storyteller sharing his music with you. Mike can rock out with the best of them and with the very next song, have the audience dead silent hanging on every word of an acoustic tune.
Mike Viola is a can't miss artist. Such a special and rare talent. Gold Diggers is a tiny club in LA and a great place to see Mike. He performs there often.
The musicianship and songwriting was stellar and the stage presence- very entertaining. All the guests- same. Had rockstar parking and nabbed a seat against the wall. The perfect night! Always so well curated.
I had no idea that he was this collaborative! Hats off to ya John! The man can do no wrong in a musical context. Awesome show once again and props on this one being free by the way! This just doesn't happen all of the time, so be grateful when it does. I'm super appreciative and stoked with the outcome! Thanks for another banger of a concert! We'll catch you guys soon in September at your Chapel San Fran residency. Can hardly wait to bring some first timers!

After four years of not seeing my favorite band and band buddies, I HAD to fly in from Seattle for this show. Very expensive but well worth every cent. The band was READY! Tight. Excited. Almost as much as the fans! Some fun banter, could have used more, but somebody yelled something at Greg which stopped his bantering. The venue was tiny, but intimate. Yes, there were tears. At least for me. I only took about 3 pictures during the show. I wanted to fully experience it in my head this time and my friends took WAY better pics than I would have. Win/win. It was hard to leave after hanging around after the show. Never can get enough of this band. Looking forward to October unless I find a way to fly to another show. So ... EXCELLENT SHOW!
