I have to admit that my expectations for the "In My Dreams" show were quite different from the music that was actually played by Bill and company. It took some time, but as I settled into the show, I found myself quite enjoying what he and his bandmates were doing. The musicianship was top class all around. The ideas and approaches to the music were unique, but in a very different exciting way. The sound was great. I guess with Bill Frisell you never know for sure what you are going to get. He is truly one of the top guitarists/composers of our time. My first reaction after the show was to think about when can I see him again. I hope to see his trio soon. Roulette was a really nice venue. Highly recommended!

Great show and material looking back at his previous use of strings in the 858 Quintet and on CDs, but we got the bonus of a full set of new or reworked material which made it special. Leave it to Bill to keep us on our toes.
