Babeville

Pat Metheny’s Buffalo tour stop was nothing short of extraordinary. From the opening notes to the final encore, Metheny demonstrated once again why he remains one of the most innovative, expressive, and unmistakable guitarists of our time. His musicianship is astonishing, but what impressed me most was how effortless and deeply personal the performance felt. The concert moved beautifully between moments of incredible technical brilliance and passages that were quiet, intimate, and genuinely moving. Metheny has that rare ability to make sophisticated music feel completely accessible—you don’t have to analyze what he’s doing to be affected by it. You simply experience it. After decades of listening to his music, seeing him perform live still feels special. There is a warmth and humility to his stage presence that makes the audience feel less like spectators and more like participants in the music. An absolutely outstanding evening in Buffalo and one of those concerts that stays with you long after the final note. Pat Metheny remains a master of his craft and a true musical treasure.

Simply outstanding. An amazing ensemble of passionate, tireless, and extremely talented musicians who delivered a moving, thoughtful mix of new compositions and familiar favorites. Three encores! Thank you, thank you!

Genuinely the most enriching experience I’ve ever had, Haley was fantastic along with Max. Haley sounded like an angel as usual, everyday she and her crew prove that creativity is the opposite of destruction. She proves that every effort to uplift and speak out is worth it. Her music saved me once and it saves me everyday when I think about how much she has accomplished. The day she is selling out stadiums I hope is the same day that the gift she has is shown to the masses. If I could say something to her I’d tell her that her presence as a performer is fantastic. Haley as well as Max captivate the stage in a way that many other “bigger” artist could only dream. I believe they have this ability because they truly believe in the songs they sing. Their songs come from the deepest corners of their hearts and the very paperwork of their beings. I want her to know her music inspires and motivates. I wish I could go back and do it all over again. If I got a second chance at that concert, I’d make sure I knew every single word Instead of just most of them. Forever a fan of yours, who you may not know exists. -Trinity, Buffalo 4/12/26

The show at Babeville last night was fantastic. I’ve seen Keb’ many, many times (probably 30+) over the past 30 or so years. Last night was one of my favorites. It was sort of a laid-back show, but so much fun! Keb’ seemed so relaxed and happy. I hope I read him right, because I loved it! Can’t wait to see him again!

My fiance and I went and it was the best concert he'd seen in decades we were surprised by all the guest musicians they brought in from out of town. At the after party everybody was very friendly and welcoming.

Great concert, loved every minute. Huge shout-out to Kathleen paying tribute to Ami DeFranco who rescued and restored Babeville. Crowd was very vocal as well. Terrific venue. Bring her back!

Babeville is an amazing venue. Great acoustics, clean, big bathrooms, varied and friendly bars--upstairs and down, and what a variety of acts! Having seen Trower here previously, I kind of knew what to expect sonically, but hot damn, Robin and co. were over and above what I could've hoped for. Tight three-piece, great set, and at eighty, Robin hasn't lost a step. His tone is impeccable. Only knock is the sound board, honestly. The bass is way too loud and it muddied the vocals. If you don't know the lyrics comin' in, you won't learn them at the show. Beautiful night, Trower's a living legend with a fantastic band, great set and company. Top notch.

An amazing show! SF was fantastic. She rocked the house all night, and brought down the house during the encore! The Texas Headhunters opened and killed it also.

I have seen 1000's of shows/concerts throughout my life. But nothing can/will/never come close to Sunday nights performance. I was sooooo blown away and thoroughly enjoyed Steve's show. He was so incredibly personal, warm and completely open. I felt as though I was sitting in a room with Steve telling his life's story. He was so up close and personal! I have been a huge fan of his since early 80's, before Copperhead Road. But the other night just seemed to wrap it up. Hopefully not. I truly feel as though we are personal friends. And pray that will not be the last chance that I get to experience him. And in my dreams, to sit and jam with him! Would be the ultimate!!! Here's to many more encounters. Steve, You Rock! And BTW, I saw him in Asbury hall in Babeville. 6.15.25

The show was absolutely amazing. Kuf Knotz is definitely a vibe. You can just kick back and enjoy the journey that he takes you on. Chrissy adds a soulful flavor with her vocals mixed with a genius move to play the harp. Will Evans was also amazing. His vocal skills are outstanding and he plays all of his own instruments during the show. He's a one man band. Definitely a show that I would recommend to anyone who wants to see amazing talent and enjoy great music.❤️❤️❤️

This was such a fun show! It was so nice to be in such a supportive and energetic environment, and Corook is an amazing performer! The opener Kel Cripe was also very funny, it was a great night!

My first time seeing Neko Case and she didn’t disappoint. The show was spectacular. The band was super tight and Miss Cases’ voice far exceeded my expectations. I was stunned at how good she sounded. Every song was a crisp live version of the studio recording played to perfection. I don’t understand how a tremendous talent like Neko Case isn’t more popular. Can’t wait for the new record. Babeville venue was fantastic and sound acoustics were unbelievable.

Small, intimate and COMFORTABLE venue that allowed for some seating, with plenty of room to juke and jive. Band was "all in" and played their hearts out. Very enjoyable evening!

Charlie Parr performed an intimate show for about 100 fans in the lower bar-level of Babeville. He chatted with folks at the merch table, and provided a captivating one-man performance. Parr played many of his original tunes interspersed with interpretations of traditional blues numbers. His guitar and voice resonated with surprising clarity in the simple low-ceiling performance space. Throughout the night, Parr fretted jokingly that his songs were depressing. However, those present couldn’t get enough of the hard truths of which Parr sang. A midst the gray there was light as Parr told brief comic tales and navigated to a few spry up-tempo numbers. Charlie Parr drew from a deep well and shared generously with the audience.

Jimmie still has the fire! And Babeville is a great little intimate concert venue. The staff is awesome and super courteous. I love going there.

I did NOT attend this concert. I was actually at the Santana Concert Saturday night! But I met Eric Gales in January 2023 at the G4 Experience in Las Vegas! He is awesome

Holy friggin Toledo War &Treaty just took me to another plane of existence. They had me crying & dancing & laughing and everything in between. What a privilege it was to be in the room and hear their music live. I’ve never been to a concert so emotional, and musically, that may have been the best concert I’ve ever seen. If you have a chance to see them… DO IT!!!

Those 4 guys looked like they were having s blast and made a full night of seasoned pro real music. Going to Saratoga Springs Labor Day to see them again. Follow this guy and see him just once, then you won't have to bother reading any more reviews. You'll just want to write them.

Another Top Notch performance. TY Sawyer Fredericks & band ! Can’t wait to see you perform again. Had a blast 💥 in Buffalo & You guys killed it. 🙌💥🙌💥🙌

This man still has everything you’d hope to hear but feared might have been dulled with age and the demands of his career. Last I heard Bruce live was about 15 years ago and his voice was strong and without quaver, his finger work on the frets - which was always amazing, caused the strings to sound as bells. His self admitted break from songwriting notwithstanding, his recent creations were delightful and thought provoking. Having such a prolific catalog from which to draw, he had no trouble it seemed to find everyone's favorite. His calm and present demeanor brought the audience into that circle of peace and attentiveness and, save a few “whoops” when some would recognize a number at the introduction, it was most enjoyable to be able to listen to each song without straining against too much crowd murmur. The sound in Asbury Hall was excellent, and I doubt there were any acoustically poor seats anywhere. I left with renewed enthusiasm for his work and look so much forward to hearing him again. And again.
