A rare opportunity to hear one of the finest vocalists out there, accompanied by Acoustic Minds, themselves a stellar vocal duo. Al's Den was a cozy room to enjoy this show.

What a wonderful show! I took a flyer on getting tix for ourselves and visiting friends from LA when I read the cool concept behind Chance Hayden's "Desert Inn All Stars" (a harkening back to and revival of the venue's jazz roots in the 1950s). What I didn't expect was the virtuosity of all three instrumentalists--Chance on guitar and an amazing stand-up bassist and drummer--and the dazzling musicality and all-out-charm of the vocalist guesting with the trio: LaShonda Steel. Singing jazz standards in a way that made them as fresh today as the day they were written, Ms. Steel was a wonderful addition to the otherwise instrumental trio, all of whom showcased their talents in numerous rounds of solos. If those four played every week at the Crystal? We'd go every week.

It was a great show. Saw 4 local musicians play in a Songs in a Row setting; always a fantastic way to experience many songs. Also, Al's Den is a unique and excellent place to catch some music.
