The Aquarium is North Dakota’s #1 live music venue. Located in the heart of downtown Fargo, our venue hosts more national, regional, and local bands and artists than any other venue in the state. Past headliners include Father John Misty, Bon Iver, The Melvins, Prof, Built To Spill, Band of Horses, Trampled By Turtles, Against Me!, Phoebe Bridgers, and hundreds of other acclaimed acts.

The 260-capacity venue is independently owned and operated by Fargo entrepreneurs Bert and Klaus Meyers. Local musicians and promoters Ryan Hoffart and Josie Gereszek serve as the venue’s co-directors. Dempsey’s Public House, located below The Aquarium, supports the venue with bar staff and business management. The High Plains Reader has awarded both The Aquarium and Dempsey’s “Best Music Venue” and “Best Bar” respectively several years in a row.

The Aquarium’s mission is to bring in original, cutting-edge music to Fargo-Moorhead for the purpose of bolstering a more inspired, diverse and creative community.
