The Texas Blues Guitar Summit was nothing short of phenomenal. Each artist brought their own unique style to the stage, but what stood out most was the sheer level of talent, true masters of their craft. What really made the night unforgettable was how seamlessly the artists played off one another, creating moments that felt spontaneously perfectly in sync. If you love live music with heart, and amazing talent, the Texas Blues Guitar Summit absolutely delivers. An incredible night that I’d relive in a heartbeat!

One of the better concerts I've been to in a long time. Been since seeing Joe Ely way back in the day that I've listened to a musician connect with his audience like Hayes does. Great song writer and when live, his band really shows their talent. And as always great sound at the Kessler.

Opening act, Kula Shaker, popular in Europe, but not heard of here, blew everybody away and had friends and strangers alike talking during the break and after the show! What a great choice to accompany The Dandy Warhols, perfect combo and crowd-pleaser! Everybody loved The Dandy Warhols performance of all the songs we know and love and can sing along with! Such a good time! Keyboard failure at the end held up things for a while, but missing keyboard was hardly noticeable with audience anticipation and enthusiasm of the band finishing out the set.

Dale was absolutely amazing as always! He sang songs I haven’t heard live in the longest time and told stories about the songs I’ve never heard. Such a wonderful, special evening for our family!! And I am so happy he had Summer Dean open! She was amazing! I’ll be following her and hoping to see her again soon. Genius song writer, incredible singer and absolutely hysterical!

The venue was amazingly cozy and the crowd wasn’t crazy, so that was nice. The Kessler staff were so friendly and helpful! Unfortunately, the opening acts weren’t very good. The second act had some audio issues that weren’t really fixed, so they didn’t sound as good as they could have. Even Wild Nothing themselves had a few snags. It was my first time seeing Wild Nothing and I’d absolutely go again. Hopefully next time they don’t have to play on a Monday night.

BJ and AA always put on a helluva show and this one followed suit. From the lyrics to the music it is a cathartic experience. BJ will take you through the highs and lows of life and is very real:a true showman and performer. Highly recommend seeing them anywhere and everywhere you can!

BEST show I’ve been to in YEEEEEAAARRSSS!! If he had a 2nd show tonight, I would be RIGHT BACK in that building! This man’s talent is unmatched! I’ve waited YEEEEEAAARRSSSS to see him and he was WELL WORTH every bit of it! Bring him back YEARLY, I’d support every d&mn time!! Phenomenal. Do NOT sleep on this brilliant talent and smooth skills. John is a force to be reckoned with! Please go see him if he’s coming to your city… u will NOT regret it, I promise you! Grab a few friends and get his name out there! He needs to be KNOWN!

This was an amazing show! I didn't want it to end. All three ladies added something very special to the whole. Honestly, I didn't know much about Kelly Willis and nothing about Melissa and Brennen. We were invited to the show by some friends. The venue was perfect and the song writing and performances were so so great. I'm still thinking about the show the next morning at 5am.

This was the 2nd sold out night at the Kessler for Hayes & Heathens -- a growing collaboration between Hayes Carll and The Band of Heathens. Save for a brief interlude when the Heathens took a brief break offstage (save for the keyboard player, the excellent Trevor Nealon), entire set consisted of both Hayes Carll and The Band of Heathens sharing the stage and trading off both Hayes Carll numbers and The Bank of Heathens numbers. The collaboration makes for an excellent set: the Hayes Carll numbers really stand out with the added layers of the excellent musicianship and vocals of The Band of Heathens, and The Band of Heathens numbers can focus on some of their standouts with the unique twang of Hayes Carll adding even more layers. The vocalists all complemented each other, and each had standout moments that highlighted their individual strengths as well as how well they all sang together. Really outstanding set for a highly engaged audience. Some of the standout numbers: "L.A. County Blues", "Jackson Station", "Look at Miss Ohio" (The Band of Heathens songs); "KMAG YOYO", "You Get It All", "Stomp and Holler" (Hayes Carll songs). The Band of Heathens is an excellent live band, with essentially two lead vocalists and lead guitar players who share the stage and complement each other very well, along with an excellent supporting cast. I highly recommend catching this band live whenever you can, and Hayes and The Heathens is a really excellent concert experience.

What an amazing show! A beautiful venue, an intimate experience, and a band in rare form who know how to bring the light. I did the Meet & Greet and it was something I will always remember. These are all beautiful, kind, warm people who genuinely love their fans. Great music and a great night! If you've ever enjoyed Sixpence, catch them on this tour!

Not enough stars to rate this show! Actually 2 shows...first she did an acoustic set and talked about her tribute album to the female guitar greats. Then we got to experience the debut of her new band The Pistolas. They added to her already megawatt energy. Blown away, hair parted, pinned to the wall fell off the chair, spilled my drink, done and done! Sue at the Kessler...always magic.

Avi Kaplan has such an amazing stage pressence. I feel like the Kessler was a perfect venue for him because he was able to interact with the audience in an authentic way. I absolutely loved everything about this concert! It is one of the best concerts I've been to, because the accoustics were perfect and the vibe was fantastic. Avi Kaplan also just seems like such a genuinely kind and awesome person. For someone who has traveled the world, he seems very down to earth and humble. I feel like I'd like to hang out with him around a campfire and exchange life stories.

Bruce Cockburn continues to become even more soulful as an artist. This show was a great mix of old and new with select hits from years past and numerous songs from his latest album "O Sun O Moon". My party really enjoyed seeing his mix of guitars that included a resonator and a unique 10-string mandolin. If you are a Cockburn fan, don't miss this show and if you want to see a great artist you've never heard, this will be a great experience.

Great show but that goes for almost every show I’ve been to at Kessler. When you are seated 10 feet from the stage with an adult beverage it’s hard to miss. Jesse Sykes is a huge voice contrast to Dave Alvin but it works for what the band is doing. She does all the singing except for Dave’s story telling and the encore of highway 61. So, if you’re counting on Dave’s big bass voice this ain’t it. Basically, a very different set than anything typical with Alvin but it’s a cool concept and a good show. Michael Jerome is incredible on percussion and David Immergluck do some serious guitar riffs.

Hayes Carll was great as always!! Our second time to see one of his shows. This was our first time seeing Melissa Carper and her portion of the show was excellent as well. Staff at the facility were awesome! Great show at a wonderful facility. Thank you to all who made the event happen and also the performers and staff for a great evening!

William is a world class performer and artist on the cusp of really making it big. Each show of his that I’ve seen gets better and better and his voice is as rich as honey and smooth as silk. The Keesler Theatre was also a great venue that truly highlights the artists. Such a welcoming crew and great seating arrangements!

The synergy these three ladies have is mesmerizing. I have followed Marcia around Texas and Louisiana for over 25 years. Seeing her with Carolyn and Shelly just brought out the best in all of them. Musically they are all awesome, but together it's magic. They obviously love and respect each other and had a ton of fun during the show. The Kessler is a great venue for live music!

Was an incredible concert! Mason puts on a great show at 76, and still shreds on his electric guitar. Played most of "Alone Together", his classic album from 1970 (I still remember a friend's purple vinyl copy!) and several other hits. Had a really hot band. (For those youngsters who don't know who he is, look him up on Wikipedia and be amazed at all of the blue hyperlinks with names of bands and artists he's been associated with over over 50 years!) No pictures, unfortunately, since they announced at the beginning "no photos, no videos please".

I absolutely loved the environment of the theater. The sound was great! The opening performance, The Peterson Brothers, were nothing short of amazing and ended up being the backup for Miss Latasha Lee. Now she sounded even better in person!!! Her soulful sound is timeless and still modern and very relevant in today's music. I didn't sit down once throughout the show. She connects with the audience and obviously loves what she does. Fantastic show indeed...

The show was wonderful, from the opener Pat Bryant to Ms.Colvin herself. She shared many stories about how she evolved as a songwriting, creating her first album "Stead On" in the process. She had the audience at the first guitar rifs. I have to say that the sound was a bit loud, for an acoustic show. I am not sure why the sound folks seems to want to play everything extra loud in a small venue (it also happens in the larger venues, I've noticed). It's pretty bad when I have to carry ear plugs to everything. It was a wonderful birthday present.
