“Catch the ‘Trane” to #15! The John Coltrane International Jazz and Blues Festival celebrates its 15th year bringing great Jazz and Blues to local, regional, national and international music lovers. The festival honors the great saxophonist and composer John Coltrane in the city where his musical journey began. This year the festival has expanded into a three-day celebration. It is held annually on Labor Day Weekend. The Festival Kicks-Off on Friday Sept 4 with the Golf Experience and Music Masterclass . Over the last 14 years, the festival has hosted some of the biggest names in music, representing the spirit of improvisation, innovation, and cultural excitement including Stanley Clarke, Patti LaBelle, Gregory Porter, Lakecia Benjamin and more. The Festival is sponsored by the Friends of John Coltrane, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the legacy of John Coltrane and providing music education and cultural enrichment to the community.
