Contender Rising

Contender Rising is a 5 piece modern rock band from Fort Wayne Indiana. Born from the scattered remains of several bands, Contender Rising breathes new life into a stale and dying modern rock music scene. Powerful guitar riffs, soaring vocal melodies and pounding percussion are just a few of the tools that the band uses to create a sound that is powerful, distinct, and memorable. Five musicians with different influences and musical backgrounds, come together to create a sound that will take the listener on a journey through the perils of life, complete with every emotion along the way. The riff driven, melodic style is created by the amazing combination of accomplished musicians that is Contender Rising. Having been called to Nashville by the bright lights and famed music scene, Vocalist Jarod Delgado became a founding member for Nashville favorite, Forgotten Fable. Jarod also released his own solo album "Don't Hold Back" which featured the track "Here and Now", a duet with Chris Volz of Flaw. Jarod brings heartfelt lyrics, soaring melodies and great hooks to Contender Rising. Brandon "B" Francis has been a driving force behind many Fort Wayne bands and has set his sights on bringing a guitar style and ability rivaled by none other than the best guitarists in the country, to the sound of Contender Rising. Guitarist Markus Wells is a seasoned veteran of the music industry. Having been in bands such as Hollow Drive, Frequency 54, and currently Sintonik, Markus brings his amazing style and presence to Contender Rising. Markus has a playing style that is fluent, aggressive, and melodic. Markus is a major contributor to the writing process for Contender Rising. Bassist Dan Edwards is also a veteran of the music industry. Dan has played in several successful bands, such as Blame it on Rio (Thriving Records), Rains, and Thematic. Dan Creates the groove with his signature style of bass playing. Drummer Chris Castro, hailing from Detroit, Michigan, brings an amazing dynamic of talent, showmanship, and ability to Contender Rising. Chris is also a veteran of the industry, having played in national touring bands such as Ballz Deluxe, Ugly, and currently Sintonik. Onstage, Contender Rising brings a show that is energetic, explosive, and entertaining. Collectively, the band has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in modern rock. Bands such as Shinedown, 10 Years, Crossfade, Saving Able, Bret Micheals, Drowning Pool, Evans Blue, Taproot, Flaw, and many many more. Currently the band is gearing up for the release of their debut ep. The single "Still Alive" is being released May 1st and the ep is scheduled for an early summer release.
