In the words of lyricist Ana Nowosielska, the Glasgow rock band are “painting stories in real life” with their infectious brand of pop-rock.
Altered Sky stand out from the crowd with their upbeat, punkish sensibility which is the backbone
to their radio-friendly college rock.
Formed in 2010, this hard-working band have traveled along the traditional route of playing small venues up and down the country. Those efforts look set to bear fruit as the stages, crowds and fan base all are becoming bigger, alongside the bands they are playing with.
Career highlights so far include two supports with We Are The In Crowd at the Liquid Rooms, Edinburgh, one of which was opening Slam Dunk Scotland 2014. The band have also supported The Wonder Years, Decade, State Champs, A Loss For Words, The La Fontaines and Neck Deep.
In 2013 following headline shows in the Garage, Glasgow and London’s famous 100 Club in Camden, the band launched their EP ‘Stop And Live’ which was a follow-up to the critically acclaimed ‘In This World’.
At the end of last year Altered Sky released their self funded debut album, Without Wonderland, which was recorded with Romesh Dodangoda at Longwave Studios, Cardiff. The album is currently receiving fantastic reviews across the country, none more so than Kerrang Magazine
who gave it 4Ks.
All 4 singles; Bury It All, Waves, Stupid in the Dark and Livewire released from the album, have been aired on Kerrang Radio with their videos making appearances on the likes of Kerrang and Scuzz TV regularly.
The band’s recent UK album tour saw them smash attendence records from their previous outings and they have been tipped by both Apple Music and Huffington Post for 2016. Even BBC broadcasting legend ‘Whispering’ Bob Harris said “...remember the name” and the band will be recording an intimate set for his famous Apple Tree Sessions in the near future.
The band recently headlined their biggest hometown show to-date at the Garage, Glasgow in front of 500 fans and have their sights firmly set on taking the album tour to Europe and Asia in 2017.
