The creation of singer/bassist Sara Murray, By Starlight's sound is drawn from the early grunge of the Pixies, and Sonic Youth and infused with the influences of Siouxsie and the Banshees and Smashing Pumpkins. The ensuing collision of blissed-out harmonies and grunge guitars, welded to songs which are both brutal and beautiful, makes for a hypnotic, powerful and infectious soundscape.
