Making music under the name leeny, Colleen Christman has shifted her sound and songwriting from her previous music project Margox, and onto a more eerie and at times brash landscape. In her debut ep “sucker punch”, due to release March 6, 2026, you can feel the shift. The songs look back on different pockets of life from the past decade, offering self-refletction, grappling with themes of depression, imposter syndrome, and anxiety, and stitching a hopeful light throughout all of the darkness. From layered synths, to distorted guitars and fall apart endings, Colleen’s voice rips through you at times and then takes a left turn to a softer place.

“sucker punch” was recorded in January 2025 in Richmond, VA at Taylor Bess’ studio, with Brandon O’Neill and Taylor Bess as co-producers. The trio spent a week recording, finding textures and exploring dynamics that best helped weave the emotional depth Colleen wanted the music to elicit. The result is a group of songs that search for more meaning, more hope, more love - even in the gut wrenching moments.
