Biografía del artista
April Patterson Clemens & Cobalt Tolbert are a Vermont-based indie-folk duo with Texas roots, blending heartfelt originals, carefully chosen covers, and a warm, slightly offbeat charm. April’s expressive vocals and songwriting meet Cobalt’s inventive guitar work for an intimate, engaging live show that’s equal parts heartfelt and fun. With an album of originals on the way, they’re taking their songs beyond the Vermont hills and out into the world.
“When she sings, Clemens channels medieval spirits with a rich, earthy tone that bends itself ethereally, the way water bends an image. Ghosts seem to wander through one song to the next on the controlled quiver of Clemens’ voice.”
— Alaina Janack, Seven Days
“What stands out most is the authenticity at the heart of the performance… Her delivery carries the vulnerability of someone sharing a personal story by firelight, letting the listener feel both the sorrow and the beauty of what has passed.”
— Gwen Simon, Popfad
“Intimate and quietly powerful… a welcome return from an artist who has always favoured feeling over flash… For fans of Laura Marling, Iron & Wine, or early Phoebe Bridgers.”
— Our Campfire Days review, Lock Magazine
“April’s heartfelt delivery and Cobalt’s intricate guitar lines engag[e] in a balletic dance… an intimate and thoroughly moving listening experience.”
“A magical musical moment… It’s a stunning display of her songwriting talent as well as the incredible musical partnership she has with Cobalt Tolbert.”
— Sarah Conway, Plastic Magazine
