Hailing from Landers, California, in the Mojave Desert, LANDROID creates cinematic synthpop that blends shoegaze, dreamwave, and noir-soaked psychedelia.

Led by Cooper Gillespie and Greg Gordon, with Nigel Roman recently joining the lineup, the band has been described by Rival Magazine as “channeling the vibes of a neo-noir crime drama set to testimonials from Art Bell’s Coast to Coast AM.”

Drawing comparisons to Beach House, Still Corners, and Cannons, LANDROID pairs Gillespie’s ethereal vocals and groovy basslines with Gordon’s drums and electronic production and Roman’s atmospheric guitar. Together, they create songs that are lush and melodic, with a live show that builds them into a powerful wall of sound.

Their 2026 album, Constellation, unfolds like fragments of memory beamed across multiple timelines. It’s music shaped by the vastness and isolation of the California desert, but equally at home on the dancefloor beneath disco lights at midnight.

Since the release of Constellation, LANDROID has been gathering momentum far beyond its desert home. The band has sold thousands of CDs and hundreds of vinyl records, sold out shows, and earned its first appearance in SPIN in 2026, who said they sounded like a, “Star Wars-inspired (check the THX-1138 synthline!), endlessly romantic spin on fuzzed-out dreampop crafted in the California desert.”

Their growing audience has formed around the same things that animate the songs themselves: dreams, longing, UFO mythology, liminal spaces, mysticism, desert weirdness, and the feeling that another world might be hiding just beyond this one.

With record sales climbing, national press, an expanded live lineup, and regular tours across the West, LANDROID is building momentum with every show. What began in their wonderfully strange corner of the Mojave is finding a home far beyond the desert.
