Cozy in The Black

COZY IN THE BLACK is a Tampa-based post-punk band blending punk, grunge, new wave, and dance-driven alternative rock into a sound they call Afro-Futurist Witch Doctor Punk.

Fronted by Josephine Selbeau, alongside Dominique Battle on bass, Erick Heckard on lead guitar, Spoon Douglas on rhythm guitar, and Jeremiah Alexander on drums, the band pairs jagged guitars, infectious grooves, and atmospheric textures with mythic imagery and cosmic storytelling.

Their music explores identity, emotion, transformation, and the unknown while carving out a distinct space for Black expression within alternative music. Equal parts raw, theatrical, and hypnotic, COZY IN THE BLACK invites listeners into “The Black”,a world where the unseen, the strange, and the infinite are not feared, but embraced.
