Artist bio
Dakota Poorman is a country-rock singer-songwriter from Washington State, delivering a gritty blend of modern country, Southern rock, and blue-collar storytelling.
Built on honest lyrics, powerhouse vocals, and a high-energy live show, Poorman’s sound pulls from the attitude of outlaw country, the soul of Southern rock, and the raw edge of the Pacific Northwest. His original music reflects real life—family, hard work, hard lessons, redemption, heartbreak, and the pursuit of something better.
Poorman has taken his music on the road throughout the Pacific Northwest and across the country, performing everywhere from honky-tonks and dance halls to festivals and larger concert stages. Whether performing stripped-down acoustic or backed by his full band, his shows mix original music with his own take on songs from artists who helped shape his sound, including Eric Church, Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Jr., Bob Seger, The Marshall Tucker Band, and more.
With releases including “Rich Man,” “Something Better,” “It Rains in California Too,” and his album Black Sheep, Dakota continues to build a catalog rooted in authenticity while pushing his sound toward a heavier, modern country-rock direction.
Now signed with Badland Music Group and continuing to release new music throughout 2026, Dakota Poorman is taking his blue-collar brand of country music to new cities, new stages, and new audiences across the country.
This isn’t polished Nashville country. It’s loud, lived-in, and real.

Dakota is amazing! After 2 years of saying I want to see and hear him, I finally made it happen. I want to see him again and again! I will be encouraging my friends and family to see him if they have the chance.
