Biografía del artista
Torus is the alias of Dutch multidisciplinary artist Joeri Woudstra, whose practice spans music production, sound design, and installation art. His work moves fluidly between the worlds of contemporary art and underground music, with past projects including a soundtrack for Telfar’s UGG collaboration, a sound piece exhibited at the New Museum in New York, and an installation co-produced with Malibu for documenta 14.
As Torus, Woudstra explores the outer edges of club music, balancing emotional depth with experimental structure. While his recent productions lean into ambient and melancholic soundscapes, his DJ sets embrace a headier, more maximalist approach. Starlight Divergence, a standout release crafted from stems and compositional material by Danny L. Harle and Pink Pantheress, pushes pop aesthetics into abstract, cinematic terrain.
Following its initial Bandcamp-exclusive debut, Torus recently reissued his acclaimed project Summer of Love across all major streaming platforms, marking one year since its original drop. Its themes of euphoria, nostalgia, and collapse echo through Torus’s live shows, where the introspective mood of the record is reimagined in expansive, high-intensity sets that blur the line between concert, club, and sound installation.
