Yankee Azteca

YANKEE AZTECA was formed in the summer of June 2003 by JOSE CHITICA (Vocal), STEVEN G. BEJARANO (Bass) and PEDRO CHITICA (Rhythm Guitar/Vocal ) with the intention to provide the audience a mixture of classic rock and rock en español.

ART RODRIGUEZ (LEAD GUITAR) later joined in 2007 to give the sound of YANKEE AZTECA a more latin- jazz fusion/ rock vibe.
REESE DURHAM (DRUMS) joined the band in 2009 and set the soulful heartbeat to what is the sound of YANKEE AZTECA now.

We have been rocking and playing different clubs and bars throughout Southern California. Our latest achievement came in March 2015 when we got the opportunity to play at the House of Blues Hollywood.
That was an ultimate high for us as a band. We have recorded two demos in our 12 year existence. We are a cover band but we also have the pride of writing our own original music which is included in our second demo recorded 2015 at the Royal Riff Raff Recording Studio in Whittier.

We enjoy playing music together but I believe that what’s kept us together throughout the years is the camaraderie that we share on and off the stage. If you have the opportunity to presence one of our shows, we are sure to deliver a high energy performance along with good musicianship and you will definitely not be disappointed.
