Saint Square

Saint Square is the indie-folk moniker of Richmond-based singer/songwriter Ben Berumez. His music centers around introspective musings on the themes of life, love, and loss. With a style that draws from the sincerity and storytelling of artists like John Mayer, Damien Rice, and Gregory Alan Isakov, Saint Square blends evocative lyrics with warm acoustic textures to create music that lingers long after the last note.

Since releasing the single Crashing Down in 2019, followed by the debut EP Area of Effect, Saint Square has continued to shape a distinct voice in the indie-folk scene. His more recent singles, Always and Momentary, mark a continued evolution in his sound, blending together raw acoustic tones with heartfelt lyrics.

Saint Square has performed regularly across Virginia, with notable appearances at the Carytown Watermelon Festival (in 2025 and past years) and ongoing shows at intimate venues like the Local Cup in Mechanicsville, VA. His live performances offer an engaging experience where songs and stories intertwine.

When not performing or writing, Ben shares his love of music with students of all ages, and spends time running a small homestead with his family—where the simple life continues to influence his writing and music in quiet and meaningful ways.

New songs are currently in production, with studio recordings underway. Be sure to follow Saint Square on social media for the latest on new music and upcoming performances.
