El Caplan

El Caplan is a Los Angeles-born singer/songwriter and producer known for his rich, baritone voice and reverb-soaked western guitars. Blending Americana, old-school rock & roll, and Latin alternative, his sound reflects his roots with an American session musician father and a Mexican mother from the narco-run Culiacán, Sinaloa. A seasoned studio veteran, El Caplan has worked as a session musician and producer for artists like Dr. Dre, J. Cole, and Anderson .Paak. Now, he's stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist.

His debut EP, Our Lady, the Queen of Angels, which was co-produced by Grammy-winning producer Eddie Spear (Zach Bryan, Sierra Ferrell), blends Americana and retro indie rock with cinematic storytelling. Each track paints a vivid portrait of love, loss, fame, and self-destruction, filled with neon lights, desert highways, and the ghosts of the past.

El Caplan’s Latin classic covers, including Selena’s “Como La Flor” and Los Ángeles Negros’ “Y Volveré,” earned spots on Spotify's New Music Friday Latin and showcase his ability to honor tradition while adding a modern twist. These covers, alongside his EP, create a seamless blend of Latin influences with his unique style.

El Caplan celebrated the release of Our Lady, the Queen of Angels with sold-out headlining shows at Permanent Records Roadhouse with Nathan Jacques and Los Caramelos, and at Eastside Luv with The Tone Slingers. He will be releasing new music and performing throughout the Southwest in 2026.
