Artist bio
John Mueller has had a variety filled entertainment career for over 20 years. His Americana oriented original music includes many single releases and LP’s including the 2020 release "You Are Here," the 2009 release "Retrospective", and 2005’s "Romance and Redemption." His new album "Joyland" will be released in 2026.

John’s music has been featured in the indie film "Bloodline," a BBC radio documentary, "The Day the Music Died" and the web series, "Above Ground."

His tribute concert show "Winter Dance Party," has been hailed as the best show depicting the final tour of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper and the only one endorsed by the Holly, Valens and Richardson estates. His other show, "One Night in Memphis" features the music of Carl Perkins, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash and tours nationally.

As an actor, John toured nationally in the starring role of the one man comedy nostalgia stage play "The Wonder Bread Years," the national tour of the Tony Award winning play, "The Real Thing" directed by Mike Nichols, and won Kansas City’s Drama Desk award for best actor in "Buddy..the Buddy Holly Story" at Hallmark Card’s American Heartland Theatre. TV roles include some parts on Ellen, E! Entertainment, Lois and Clark, Brisco County Jr., and most recently the feature film "Angels in Stardust" featuring John as a rodeo star with Alicia Silverstone. He also starred in an episode of the web series "Above Ground" which featured his original song, "The Darkest Blue" from his latest album release "You are Here."

In 2005, John was proud to have performed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with John Mellencamp, Marshall Crenshaw, Nanci Griffith, and Joe Ely for a concert celebrating the legacy of Buddy Holly. He has also shared the stage before with Taj Mahal, The Coasters, Peter Nero, Tommy Allsup, Bobby Vee and Bill Haley’s Original Comets.

Though John is indelibly linked to Buddy Holly he’ll forever continue writing and performing his own compositions which have roots of Buddy Holly, Willie Nelson, Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Roger Miller, Warren Zevon, John Prine and Chuck Berry all shaken in a martini glass. Great original music in the Americana roots tradition.
