Artist bio
Forming over the Fall of 2022, Shunk has been able to seamlessly blend a myriad of musical influences (Post-Punk, Dreampop, Shoegaze, Indie Pop and even Opera) to form their own specific sonic palette that sounds like “Blondie on methadone” (Cult Montreal, 2024). Shunk’s live performances are “pure entropy” (PanM 360, 2024), where frontwoman Gabrielle Domingue is able to embody multiple personas physically and vocally, singing floaty french love songs one minute and yelling in borderline hardcore moments the next. This is all grounded by a honed rhythm section consisting of Adrian Vaktor and Julia Hill, and shimmering, synth inspired guitar parts from Peter Baylis. This unique combination makes them a symbol of the city's ever-evolving, boundary-pushing music scene.

Cutting their teeth in Montreal’s underground, the band has generated a following and created their unique niche.
Shunk has recently finished recording their first LP, Shunkland, which is set to release on March 7th 2025.
