Artist bio
Beloved Philadelphia hardcore band Soul Glo are back with NA I'M GON GRAB ALLAT, out January 15 from Epitaph. Following the release of their massively acclaimed 2022 landmark album, Diaspora Problems (14M+ streams to date), Soul Glo toured extensively (including supporting Mannequin Pussy, TV on the Radio et al), played Coachella, Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival, and became the first hardcore band to perform behind the Tiny Desk. Then last fall, the band went home and set up a studio at the infamous Foto Club (since destroyed), with collaborator Evan Bernard. The result is the astounding, NA I'M GON GRAB ALLAT, a punk ripper that retains the band’s unique experimental edge, with cascading riffs, while Jordan, who Revolver crowned “the most uncompromising, poetic and genuine hardcore lyricist right now," delivers mile-a-minute vocals and incisive lyrics, and Stevenson injects his inimitable drumming style.

NA I'M GON GRAB ALLAT is simultaneously more intense and more approachable than Diaspora Problems, maintaining the band’s breakneck punk base while delving into abrasive hip-hop and noise, with assists from experimental rap king MIKE, Tunde Adebimpe of TV on the Radio, Southern rapper BbyMutha, Tati Salazar of Le Sirèn and Commitment, and avant-garde metal hero Eugene Robinson. Throughout NA I'M GON GRAB ALLAT’s fourteen unforgettable songs, Jordan speaks on the Black experience within the punk/hardcore scene and everyday life, resentment, anxieties around relationships, drug abuse, self-discovery, and breaking down theso-called male loneliness epidemic. He dedicates the album to “everyone who has known the joy and pain of loving a man. All different types of love: platonic, romantic, familial, self.” As you listen, you can hear the love, care, and complication that go into creating a complex and powerful album like Soul Glo’s NA I'M GON GRAB ALLAT.
