Strain

Strain is a progressive deathcore band from southeastern Wisconsin. This 5-piece ensemble combines elements of death metal, black metal, hardcore, and mathcore to create an eclectic blend of metal subgenres that epitomizes the sound of modern metal. With thunderous growls accompanied by erratic time signatures, dizzying blast beats, brutal breakdowns, and the low rattle of unconventionally tuned 9-string guitars, Strain captivates its audience in a torrent of sonic exhilaration. Taking the Milwaukee scene by storm in early 2025, Strain released their debut EP, Ripped from the Void, and their debut music video for “Split Tongue”. With more music on the way, Strain is laying the groundwork for some of the heaviest and most enthralling music in the Midwest.
