Acerca de este concierto
The April Skies hit the stage at Englewood Hershey with The Jellybricks and other special guests October 18! Doors - 6:00pm Music - 7:00pm THE APRIL SKIES The April Skies is an alternative rock band from Hershey, Pennsylvania, known for blending melodic hooks, soaring guitars, and emotionally honest lyrics into a sound that’s both nostalgic and fresh. Since forming in 1989, the band has built a loyal following across the East Coast and beyond through relentless DIY spirit, heartfelt songwriting, and powerful live performances. Drawing influence from bands like The Cure, The Smiths, U2, REM, The Stone Roses, fellow Hershey natives The Ocean Blue and so many more, The April Skies crafts songs that hit the heart as hard as they hit the speakers. From shimmering indie rock anthems to late-night introspective slow-burners, our music is equal parts emotion, atmosphere, and energy. It’s music for the dreamers, the misfits, and the romantics — with loud guitars and a pulse you can feel in your chest. Formed in 1989, The April Skies is a band rooted in longevity, authenticity, and connection — between bandmates, between artist and audience, and between the past and the present. Fronted by lead singer and guitarist Jake Crawford, the band also features bassist Jason Leidich, drummer Mitch Curry, keyboardist Bob Eisenhower, guitarist Joe Kury, and live show guitarist Steve Musti. While the lineup has evolved over time, the mission remains unchanged: write honest songs that matter and play them like every note counts. Over the years, The April Skies have played and toured across the United States, earning a reputation for emotionally resonant songwriting and powerful live performances. Their discography includes four full-length albums, two EPs, and a series of singles — most recently, “Lights,” the lead single from their upcoming album A Cure For The Lost. The band has shared stages with a wide range of respected artists, including fellow Hershey natives The Ocean Blue, Don Peris of The Innocence Mission, Riverside, Suddenly, Tammy!, The Lemonheads, Ride, Jimmie’s Chicken Shack, Eve’s Plum, The Badlees, The Hold Steady, and many more.

Biografía de The Jellybricks

“The band that just keeps going.”
The even-keeled ascent of The Jellybricks is living proof that a band need not be an overnight sensation to feel lucky. A rock group in the classic two-guitars-bass-drums tradition, this Harrisburg, Pennsylvania-based crew persevered for two decades before claiming the spotlight with Some Kind Of Lucky, their first album for Wicked Cool Records. “The opportunity to make a new, better record is what always leads us back into the recording studio,” says guitarist/vocalist Larry Kennedy.

The Jellybricks began as a vehicle for Larry’s original songs in the mid-’90s but has steadily evolved over eight releases into a four-headed collaboration with all four members writing and singing lead. “We’ve gotten really good at speaking the same language when it comes to collaborating.” says bassist/vocalist Garrick Chow.

Drawing inspiration from decades of melodic Rock 'n' Roll — from the '60s British Invasion to '90s Alternative — their catchy tracks didn't go unnoticed. Stevie Van Zandt, founder of Wicked Cool Records and the Underground Garage radio properties took notice, elevating their 2012 track “Rock ’n’ Roll Suicide” to Coolest Song in the World status, an honor they also collected with “About The Weekend” in 2014.

2019 saw the release of "Some Kind Of Lucky,” which included the song “Brooklyn,” notable for being the first track co-written by all four Jellybricks, and which received a nomination for Best Video at the Independent Music Awards. The album itself set a record with four songs earning the title of "Coolest Song in the World" in Little Steven’s Underground Garage. The Jellybricks' dedication was further recognized that year when they were honored with the Central PA Music Hall of Fame Best Rock Band award.

2024 finds the band back in the studio at work on their next full-length release, with Grammy-winning Producer Geoff Sanoff behind the board. The first single from the as-yet-untitled new album, “Monday’s Never,” features a guest appearance by guitarist Doug Gillard (Guided By Voices, Nada Surf), and was released on Wicked Cool Records on November 3rd.
