Cassetta Biography
From Knotfest - The SoCal collective consists of current and former members of Pressure Cracks, Scars of Tomorrow and The Arson Choir.
When a new band has the kind of collective resume that SoCal prospects Cassetta has, it’s tough to not expect something memorable right out of gate. Comprised and current and former members of Pressure Cracks, Suicide Silence, Scars of Tomorrow, Fake Figures and The Arson Choir, the band’s associated works offer plenty of reason to take notice with a sense of auspicious anticipation.
Making their introduction with the release of their debut single “Swallow the Sun” the outfit led by vocalist Conor Eaton and an assembly of veterans in guitarist Kevin Fifield (Pressure Cracks/Scars of Tomorrow), Marc Motley (The Arson Choir), Bob Bradley (Fake Figures/Scars of Tomorrow) and Bill Galvin (Pressure Cracks), have issued a resounding statement substantiating their potential with just one song.
Stylistically, the band sources a myriad of influences given their own diverse backgrounds. Elements of hardcore, metalcore, deathcore converge in a sonic clobbering that touts a cathartic quality just the same. The hostility of the single is further corroborated by the lyrical conviction spewed by Conor Eaton and special guest, Cameron Miller of Duhkha.
Eaton spoke to the important meaning between the verses of the introductory single and how the track isets the bar for Cassetta – forging a sense of creative congruence among the members . “Shining light on mental struggles, especially those that are typically kept private, has always been a cathartic release for me. Being able to do it with friends that I’ve looked up to for a long time has made this experience extremely special.”
Eaton added, “‘Swallow the Sun’ is the first song we wrote together and I believe it’s a good representation of what you can expect from Cassetta moving forward. Jeff Dunne did a great job at making these songs sound absolutely massive. I hope you can find something to connect to in our music and most of all I can’t wait to play these songs live with all of our friends.”
