Originally from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Wesli blends traditional Haitian rhythms and lyrics with a wide range of styles. The sounds of Wesli’s childhood, including Evangelical gospel, reggae, Afrobeat, funk, and the diverse roots music of Haiti, continually influence his compositions. Based in Montreal since the early 2000s, Wesli explores a variety of genres while keeping his musical identity firmly anchored in his roots and Haitian cultural heritage. wesliband.com

Wesli Biography
Wesli’s musical journey has gone from stringing up an oil can with nylon fishing string to winning a Juno for World Music Album of the Year (Rapadou Kreyol, 2019). Uniting a large cross-section of Montreal talent, his music links Haitian vaudou and rara with roots, Afrobeat and hip-hop. His 7th album, "Tradisyon", will be released on May 13, 2022 in partnership with the famous American label Cumbancha.
