About this concert
Join us for this exciting musical double-bill of Drank the Gold and High on the Hog!
Drank the Gold - From Upstate New York, Oona Grady (fiddle/viola/vocals) and James Gascoyne (guitar/banjo/vocals) play and sing North Atlantic dance tunes and folk songs. “Old-time tunes for today! Irish traditional music for now! Together as Drank the Gold, Oona Grady and James Gascoyne fuse beautiful harmonies and deep instrumental skills on fiddle, banjo and guitar for a distinctly fresh take on sounds from the past. Drink up!” - Michael Eck
High on the Hog - From the Heart of the Adirondack, High on the Hog was born of southern Appalachian fiddle tunes, early country songs and ballads, and homemade Adirondack originals. High on the Hog draws on the simplicity of strings and voice to bring an authentic musical tradition. Multi-instrumentalists Bill Chamberlain, Tyler Dezago, and Marion Hoelzel carry forth string driving melodies on fiddle, mandolin, and guitar, trading harmonies and swapping stories of each song.
